Strengthening AI-Powered Construction Technology

UK-based and Egypt-born architecture technology startup CONIX.AI has secured strategic backing from LAB7, the venture-building arm of Saudi Aramco, in a partnership that aims to accelerate the digital transformation of Saudi Arabia’s construction sector. As part of the collaboration, LAB7’s award-winning B2Code engine will be integrated into CONIX.AI’s regulatory compliance platform, E-Comply, creating a more comprehensive solution for architectural design, building code validation, and permitting workflows.

The partnership represents an important milestone for CONIX.AI as it expands its presence in Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s fastest-growing construction markets. By combining artificial intelligence with automated compliance validation, the company aims to help engineering firms, developers, and government entities design buildings faster while reducing costly regulatory errors and approval delays.

Reimagining Architectural Design with Artificial Intelligence

Founded in 2021 by Omar Geneidy, Yusuf Fahmy, and Hani Farrag, CONIX.AI is developing an AI-powered platform that automates architectural design while embedding engineering standards and regulatory requirements directly into the design process.

Instead of requiring architects to manually prepare designs and repeatedly revise them to satisfy building regulations, CONIX.AI enables users to generate architectural plans within minutes. Its platform automatically evaluates projects against engineering standards and regulatory frameworks, allowing potential compliance issues to be identified much earlier in the design cycle.

Beyond architectural design, the company has expanded into regulatory technology through its E-Comply platform, which automates building code reviews and simplifies permitting and approval workflows. By digitizing these traditionally manual processes, CONIX.AI aims to reduce approval timelines while improving consistency and regulatory compliance across construction projects.

Integrating LAB7’s Award-Winning B2Code Engine

A central component of the partnership is the integration of B2Code, a proprietary compliance engine developed by LAB7 and recognized with an Edison Award for Best New Product.

B2Code automatically validates architectural floor plans against applicable building regulations, generating detailed compliance reports that help architects, developers, and regulators identify issues before construction begins. Integrated within CONIX.AI’s E-Comply platform, the technology will enable broader compliance assessments covering both Saudi Arabia’s national building codes and local municipal regulations.

The combined platform is expected to provide engineering firms with a more efficient way to prepare regulatory submissions while helping government agencies review projects more quickly and consistently. Early validation also reduces the likelihood of expensive design revisions during later construction stages, improving both project timelines and overall quality.

Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Construction Boom

The partnership comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in large-scale urban development projects as part of Vision 2030. Mega projects across housing, infrastructure, tourism, and smart cities are driving unprecedented demand for digital solutions that can improve planning, compliance, and project delivery.

Construction remains one of the sectors where regulatory complexity often slows project execution. Building approvals typically require extensive manual reviews involving multiple stakeholders, increasing both costs and delays. By combining AI-powered design generation with automated compliance validation, CONIX.AI and LAB7 hope to modernize these workflows and improve efficiency across the entire construction lifecycle.

The collaboration also highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing emphasis on commercializing deep technology through partnerships between established institutions and innovative startups capable of solving real-world industry challenges.

Building the Future of Digital Construction

LAB7 has played an increasingly important role in supporting breakthrough technologies that address strategic industrial challenges. Its collaboration with CONIX.AI demonstrates how venture-building organizations can accelerate the commercialization of advanced technologies by combining proprietary innovations with market-ready software platforms.

The integration of B2Code into E-Comply reflects a broader industry trend toward embedding regulatory intelligence directly into design tools rather than treating compliance as a separate process. As artificial intelligence continues transforming architecture, engineering, and construction, solutions that automate repetitive workflows while improving regulatory accuracy are expected to become increasingly important.

For CONIX.AI, the partnership strengthens its position as a technology company focused not only on AI-generated architectural design but also on building the digital infrastructure needed to support smarter, faster, and more compliant construction projects.

Expanding a Vision for AI-Powered Urban Development

CONIX.AI previously raised $1.3 million in funding in 2022, led by BIM Ventures, to accelerate development of its AI-powered design platform. The latest partnership with LAB7 further strengthens the company’s expansion strategy by bringing together advanced artificial intelligence, automated compliance technology, and Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving innovation ecosystem.

As governments across the region continue investing in digital transformation and next-generation infrastructure, AI-powered platforms capable of simplifying complex engineering workflows are expected to play a critical role. Through its collaboration with LAB7, CONIX.AI is positioning itself at the intersection of architecture, artificial intelligence, and regulatory technology—helping shape a future where buildings are designed faster, approved sooner, and delivered with greater confidence.
