Egyptian real estate startup Aqar Exit has secured $200,000 in investment from businessman Ayman Mamdouh Abbas, executive chairman of Intro Holding Group, as it looks to address a challenge facing property buyers in Egypt: what happens when they can no longer afford their instalments.

Founded in July 2026 by Mahmoud Ammar, Aqar Exit operates a platform that connects property buyers seeking to exit their purchase contracts with new buyers interested in acquiring the same units. The investment of EGP 10 million gives Abbas a 10% stake in the company, valuing Aqar Exit at approximately $2 million on a post-money basis, according to figures disclosed by Ammar.

The funding will support new product development and international expansion, with the Gulf region among the company’s primary targets.

A Different Route Out of Property Instalments

Egypt’s property market relies heavily on instalment-based payment plans, allowing buyers to purchase units while spreading payments over several years. However, changing financial circumstances can leave some buyers struggling to meet their commitments, even after paying a substantial portion of the purchase price.

Aqar Exit aims to create an alternative for these buyers by facilitating the transfer of their purchase contracts to other interested customers.

Through the platform, sellers can seek to recover the amounts they have already paid, while new buyers gain access to properties at the original contract prices. The model is designed to avoid the additional premiums, commonly referred to as overprice in Egypt’s property market, that can make some resale opportunities more expensive.

The company also says sellers can use its platform without incurring contract assignment fees.

Reported Listings Reach EGP 9 Billion

Aqar Exit has reported EGP 9 billion in closed listings since its launch, spanning 638 transactions. The company recorded 404 such transactions in its most recent reported month, up from 233 in the preceding month.

These figures require an important distinction. Aqar Exit classifies a listing as closed when it is removed from the platform. Consequently, its reported transaction figures do not necessarily represent completed property sales or revenue generated by the startup.

The company has also reported 14,845 property assignment files submitted by 11,833 sellers, alongside 67,013 purchase requests from 32,870 prospective buyers.

According to its figures, average daily purchase requests increased from 671 to 1,060, a rise of 58% over the reported comparison period.

While these numbers indicate activity on the platform, the extent to which that activity converts into completed contract transfers will be an important measure of the business’s progress.

Investment Follows Shark Tank Egypt Appearance

The investment comes after Aqar Exit participated in the fifth season of Shark Tank Egypt, where it presented its business model to investors.

Abbas’s investment gives the startup additional capital to develop its offering and pursue opportunities beyond Egypt. The Gulf region is a particular focus as Aqar Exit explores international markets.

Expanding into other countries could offer growth opportunities, although the company will need to navigate differences in property regulations, contract assignment procedures and real estate market practices.

Its ability to establish partnerships and build trust among property sellers, buyers and developers will also be important as it enters new markets.

Aiming for a $5 Million Funding Round in 2027

Aqar Exit plans to pursue a funding round of approximately $5 million in 2027. The company intends to approach Egyptian and international investors, businesspeople and investment funds to finance its next stage of development.

The proposed round would support further product development and regional expansion as the startup seeks to build a broader market for property contract transfers.

For Aqar Exit, the immediate challenge is to demonstrate that its platform can consistently turn buyer interest and seller listings into completed transactions. If it can establish that process at scale, the company could develop a distinctive position within Egypt’s property technology sector while exploring similar opportunities across the Gulf.
