UAE-based AI and geospatial intelligence startup Stellaria, formerly known as Farmin, has raised $6.8 million (AED25 million) in a Seed funding round backed by a group of angel investors, at a valuation of $114.4 million (AED420 million).
Founded by Dr. Ali AlHammadi, Stellaria is building what it describes as an AI-powered operating system for geospatial intelligence. The platform is designed to transform satellite imagery and other geospatial data into actionable intelligence, combining advanced AI models, analytical workflows and geospatial information within a unified system.
The fresh capital will support the company’s next phase of growth, including further development of its technology, expansion of its technical team and the scaling of its solutions across the UAE and international markets.
Building An AI Operating System For The Physical World
Stellaria’s technology is focused on helping organizations detect, analyse and understand activity across the physical world using satellite and geospatial data. Its capabilities include AI-powered satellite imagery analytics, super-resolution, automated target recognition, maritime and port intelligence, satellite-derived bathymetry and environmental monitoring.
At the center of this ecosystem is the company’s proprietary Stella platform, which brings together these technologies into a unified AI-powered environment. The company is targeting applications across sectors including government, defence, maritime and ports, infrastructure and environmental monitoring.
“This funding marks an important milestone in Stellaria’s journey and reflects the confidence our investors have placed in our technology and the team behind it,” said Dr. Ali AlHammadi, Founder and CEO of Stellaria.
“We have grown from a UAE startup into a company building an AI operating system for geospatial intelligence, bringing together satellite data, AI and advanced analytics within a unified platform.”
Scaling UAE-Built Space And AI Technology
AlHammadi said the Seed round will allow Stellaria to invest further in its technology, strengthen its team and develop scalable products capable of competing internationally. The company’s broader ambition is to build globally relevant space and AI technology from the UAE while contributing to the country’s growing position as a hub for advanced innovation.
Stellaria’s journey also reflects the role of the UAE’s startup ecosystem in supporting deep technology companies. The startup is an alumnus of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund’s Innovation Accelerator Programme, where it received mentorship, strategic guidance and ecosystem connections as it developed and scaled.
Since then, the company has broadened its capabilities across space, artificial intelligence and geospatial intelligence. With fresh funding and a valuation of AED420 million, Stellaria is now preparing to strengthen its technology, attract specialised talent and expand into new markets.
As AI increasingly changes how satellite imagery and geospatial information are analysed, Stellaria is betting that the next generation of intelligence platforms will not simply provide access to more data—but help organisations understand what that data means and act on it.
