Egypt-based edtech startup 3C Coding School has raised $3 million in a Seed funding round led by MRG Economic Group, with participation from investor Amr Saad and a group of strategic angel investors.
Founded in 2015 by Hossam Hosny and Ahmed Khallaf, 3C Coding School provides technology education to children and young people, with programmes spanning software development, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, game development and cybersecurity.
The new capital comes as the company prepares for its next phase of growth, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a key expansion market and AI becoming central to its product strategy.
From Coding Classes To A Broader Technology Education Platform
3C was founded around a simple premise: coding should not be limited to students who want to become software engineers. Instead, the company has built its programmes around developing logical reasoning, problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking alongside practical technology skills.
Over the past decade, the company has expanded its educational offering beyond traditional programming courses. Its platform now covers areas including web and mobile development, data science, AI, machine learning, game development and cybersecurity, using hands-on and project-based learning designed for different age groups and skill levels.
That model has helped 3C reach more than 120,000 students, while the company says revenue has increased by 230%, providing the foundation for its next stage of regional expansion.
Saudi Arabia Becomes The Next Growth Market
A significant portion of the new funding will support 3C’s entry into Saudi Arabia, where demand for technology and future-ready skills is growing alongside the Kingdom’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The company plans to develop locally relevant educational programmes and pursue partnerships that can help accelerate its presence in the market. The Saudi expansion also represents a shift for 3C from an Egypt-focused education company toward a regional technology education platform.
For 3C, the opportunity extends beyond simply enrolling more students. The company wants to build an education infrastructure capable of serving young learners across multiple markets while adapting its programmes to different learning needs.
AI At The Centre Of The Next Chapter
The other major focus of the funding will be the development of an AI-powered personalised learning platform.
Rather than delivering the same course experience to every student, 3C’s new system is designed to analyse learning patterns, track progress and identify how individual students interact with course material. The platform will then adapt content to a student’s pace and ability while providing instructors with additional insights into student performance.
The objective is to make technology education more adaptive and scalable, particularly as 3C expands its student base across different countries.
A Decade Of Building Before Institutional Scale
The funding represents a significant milestone for founders Hossam Hosny and Ahmed Khallaf, who have spent more than a decade developing 3C since launching the company in 2015.
“When we launched 3C in 2015, we were driven by a core belief that technology would become an indispensable part of every child’s future,” Hosny said.
He described the company’s more than 120,000 students as representing not just business traction, but the number of young people who have been exposed to technology and equipped with skills for the digital economy.
For Khallaf, the new funding is less a destination than a launchpad for the company’s next phase, providing capital to strengthen infrastructure, expand into Saudi Arabia and accelerate its AI platform.
Building The Next Generation Of Technology Creators
The broader ambition behind 3C is to change how young people interact with technology. Rather than positioning children purely as consumers of digital products, the company wants to equip them with the skills to become developers, problem-solvers and creators.
Its expansion comes at a time when AI is rapidly changing the skills required across the global economy, making early exposure to computational thinking and emerging technologies increasingly important.
With its Saudi expansion and AI-powered learning platform now on the roadmap, 3C is betting that the next generation of technology education will be more personalised, regional and deeply integrated with artificial intelligence.
The $3 million round gives 3C the capital to take that bet beyond Egypt.
