For patients who need medical care, getting to a hospital or clinic is not always easy. Elderly people, patients recovering from illness and families caring for loved ones at home may need reliable access to healthcare professionals without making repeated trips to medical facilities. Syrian healthtech startup Alo Hakeem is building a digital platform to make that process easier by connecting patients and families with licensed healthcare providers who deliver services at home.

Founded in 2025 by Abdullatif Al-Baroudi and Albaraa Abdulsalam, the Aleppo-based startup has raised $165,000 in pre-seed funding, led by EBLA Ventures, with participation from other undisclosed investors. The funding comes as Alo Hakeem prepares to launch its mobile application and expand its services beyond its initial markets in Syria.

Bringing Healthcare Services to Patients’ Homes

Alo Hakeem connects patients with licensed professionals offering a range of home healthcare services, including medical consultations, nursing, physiotherapy, elderly care, laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging. Through its existing platform, patients can arrange appointments with healthcare providers, with coordination managed through its website and customer support operations.

The model addresses two needs: helping patients access reliable healthcare at home and providing medical professionals with a more structured system for delivering their services. Rather than focusing on a single medical specialty, Alo Hakeem is building a broader service network that can support patients with different healthcare requirements.

From a Minimum Viable Product to a Mobile Platform

Alo Hakeem initially financed its operations independently, developing a minimum viable product (MVP) and testing its service model through direct engagement with patients and medical professionals. The startup also participated in the ScaleUp 2025 programme and received mentorship through ChangeMakers, run by Maynger Ventures, and Thimar, an initiative supporting Syrian startups preparing for investment.

The new funding will help the company strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand its healthcare provider network and grow its team. Its next major milestone is the public launch of the Alo Hakeem mobile application, scheduled for November 2026. The transition is intended to move the business beyond its initial service model towards a more developed digital platform.

Expanding Beyond Aleppo

Alo Hakeem currently operates in Aleppo, Damascus and Hama, giving it an initial presence across three Syrian governorates. The company plans to expand into four additional governorates by the end of 2027. Achieving that expansion will require more than developing the technology. The platform will also need to build a reliable network of licensed healthcare professionals and coordinate service delivery across additional locations.

For a home healthcare platform, provider availability and operational coordination are central to the customer experience. As Alo Hakeem enters new markets, expanding its provider network will be an important part of its growth strategy.

EBLA Ventures Backs a Homegrown Healthtech Venture

The pre-seed round was led by EBLA Ventures, which invests in and supports Syrian entrepreneurs and has worked with Alo Hakeem during its early development and investment preparation. The investment comes as technology startups explore ways to address gaps in Syria’s healthcare system, including access to services outside hospitals and traditional medical facilities.

For Alo Hakeem, the immediate priority is to turn its early service model into a more scalable platform, combining technology with a growing network of healthcare professionals. With fresh capital, a planned mobile app launch and expansion targets extending through 2027, the startup is preparing for its next stage of growth. Its ambition is to make arranging home healthcare more accessible for Syrian patients and families, while giving licensed medical professionals a structured way to deliver care beyond traditional healthcare facilities.
