The healthtech company will use the investment to accelerate its AI for Sovereign Health programme, scale healthcare technologies and services, and expand into international markets.
Morocco-based healthtech company ABA Life has signed a $40 million investment agreement with pan-African private equity firm Admaius Capital Partners, marking a significant milestone in its growth and international expansion plans. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and approval from Morocco’s Competition Council.
Founded in 2021, ABA Life is the healthcare arm of ABA Technology, founded and chaired by Mohamed Benouda. The company develops and operates healthcare solutions that combine artificial intelligence, medical technology, telemedicine, connected healthcare infrastructure and clinical services. The investment is expected to support ABA Life’s ambition to build an internationally recognised healthtech business from Morocco.
Building an Integrated Healthcare Model
In just five years, ABA Life has developed an integrated and profitable business model that brings together healthcare technology and operational services.
The company has delivered large-scale healthcare programmes in partnership with public institutions and foundations, using technology to widen access to medical services. Its approach combines the development of healthcare solutions with their deployment and operation, positioning ABA Life as both a technology developer and healthcare operator.
This integrated model has been central to the company’s growth strategy. Rather than focusing exclusively on individual healthcare products, ABA Life is building a platform that connects medical innovation, digital infrastructure and clinical operations.
Accelerating “AI for Sovereign Health”
The investment will support a new phase of growth centred on ABA Life’s AI for Sovereign Health programme.
A key component is Mediot AI, alongside the development of clinical intelligence solutions. The company aims to advance these capabilities and bring them into broader healthcare deployment.
The funding will support three priorities:
- Advancing AI and clinical intelligence: Accelerating Mediot AI and the development of clinical intelligence solutions.
- Scaling healthcare technologies and services: Industrialising and deploying the Group’s healthcare offerings at greater scale.
- Expanding internationally: Taking ABA Life’s technologies and services into new markets.
Through these priorities, the company intends to build a next-generation healthtech platform combining artificial intelligence, medical innovation and operational excellence.
From Morocco to International Markets
ABA Life’s ambition extends beyond its domestic market. The company aims to establish itself as a global healthtech reference, developing technology in Morocco and taking its solutions to international markets. Mohamed Benouda, Founder and Chairman of ABA Technology, said the company had demonstrated that a profitable healthcare technology model capable of scaling could be built from Morocco.
“This funding marks the start of a new phase: acceleration and internationalisation,” Benouda said. “Our ambition is to make ABA Life a global healthtech reference and one of Morocco’s next unicorns.”
He added that the company’s AI for Sovereign Health programme aims to develop a new generation of clinical intelligence in Morocco and bring it to international markets.
Admaius Backs ABA Life’s Growth Plans
Admaius Capital Partners said it was impressed by ABA Life’s integrated approach, combining medical devices, connected infrastructure, care operations and proprietary technology developed in Morocco. Selim Ettriqui, Head of Morocco and West Africa at Admaius Capital Partners, said the firm was pleased to support Benouda and his team through the company’s next phase of growth and international expansion.
Marlon Chigwende, Managing Partner at Admaius Capital Partners, highlighted the company’s entrepreneurial team, established business model, technology foundations and potential to scale. The investment reflects Admaius’ confidence in ABA Life’s ability to become an international healthtech player.
A New Chapter for Moroccan Healthtech
The agreement represents a major step in ABA Life’s plans to scale its healthcare technologies and services while expanding beyond Morocco. With a profitable operating model, proprietary technology and a strategy built around AI-enabled healthcare, the company is positioning itself to connect local innovation with international demand.
The $40 million investment agreement is expected to provide support for that next phase, subject to the required closing conditions and regulatory approval. For ABA Life, the ambition is clear: build a global healthtech business from Morocco and bring its healthcare innovation to markets around the world.
