Syrian foodtech startup Percent Labs has closed a seed funding round at a valuation exceeding $1 million, marking an important milestone for the company as it expands its cloud kitchen operations in Syria.
Founded by Soubhi Bakri, Jawad Shebli, and Khaled Al Hosini, the Damascus-based startup has attracted investment from Syrian angel investors living abroad. The amount raised in the round has not been disclosed.
In just 14 months since its launch, Percent Labs has built a multi-brand food business that now handles more than 10,000 orders every month. The company plans to increase that figure to more than 40,000 monthly orders over the next 18 months.
Building Multiple Food Brands Under One Business
Rather than operating a single restaurant, Percent Labs develops and manages multiple food brands through a shared cloud kitchen model.
Cloud kitchens are food preparation facilities designed primarily for delivery and takeaway orders, without the need for traditional dining spaces. By using shared kitchens, equipment, staff, and operational systems, companies can run several food concepts from one infrastructure.
This approach allows Percent Labs to develop different food brands without establishing a separate restaurant for each one. It can also help reduce the costs associated with opening and maintaining individual outlets.
The company’s model brings together food brand development, product innovation, marketing, and operational management under one structure. This gives it the flexibility to test new concepts and expand its portfolio while making use of existing resources.
More Than 10,000 Orders Every Month
Within approximately 14 months of launching, Percent Labs has surpassed 10,000 monthly orders.
The company now aims to grow its monthly order volume to more than 40,000 within the next 18 months. Reaching that target would represent a fourfold increase from its current level.
Achieving this growth will require the company to expand its operational capacity while maintaining the consistency and quality of its food brands.
Its shared infrastructure provides a foundation for that expansion, allowing the business to increase the number of brands and orders without relying entirely on the traditional restaurant model.
Using Artificial Intelligence to Improve Operations
Technology is another part of Percent Labs’ operating strategy. The company is incorporating artificial intelligence into its operations, including order management, data analysis, and decision-making.
For a business managing multiple food brands, operational data can help identify customer preferences, monitor performance, and support decisions across its portfolio.
AI-supported processes can also help streamline routine operations and improve how the company manages its growing order volume.
Rather than treating technology as a separate product, Percent Labs is applying it within the day-to-day running of its food business.
Funding to Support Expansion and New Food Brands
The newly closed seed round will support the company’s next stage of growth.
Percent Labs plans to direct the investment towards strengthening its operational infrastructure, expanding capacity, developing new food products, and launching additional food brands.
These priorities are closely connected to its target of exceeding 40,000 monthly orders over the next 18 months.
Although the company has announced a valuation above $1 million, it has not disclosed the amount raised in the round. The investment came from Syrian angel investors based abroad, reflecting the role of diaspora capital in supporting businesses operating in the country.
A Different Approach to Growing Syria’s Food Business
Percent Labs is building its business around a model that combines food entrepreneurship with shared infrastructure and technology.
For a market where opening and operating traditional restaurants can require significant investment, multi-brand cloud kitchens offer another way to develop food concepts and reach customers through delivery.
The company’s next challenge will be turning its early order growth into a larger and sustainable operation. Its plans to expand capacity, introduce new brands, and quadruple monthly orders will test how effectively its model can scale.
For now, the seed round gives Percent Labs additional backing as it works to grow its presence in Syria’s food delivery market.
